Central Registration Depository (CRD)
FINRA is responsible for the Central Registration Depository (CRD®) program, which supports the licensing and registration filing requirements of the U.S. securities industry and its regulators. The CRD program covers the registration records of broker-dealer firms, branch offices and their associated individuals, including their qualification, employment and disclosure histories; it also directs the processing of form filings, fingerprint submissions, collection and disbursement of registration-related fees, qualification exams and continuing education sessions. The registration filing requirements of the CRD program are being integrated into the new FINRA Gateway system. Learn more about the CRD program and FINRA Gateway on the pages linked below.
The general public can review information about investment professionals with the registration information collected through the CRD program and is disclosable via our investor protection tool, BrokerCheck.
Optional Form U4 E-Signature and CE Notification Features Available in FINRA Gateway
Effective September 25, 2021 firms can now enable two new optional features in FINRA Gateway’s Firm Settings. Registered securities professionals with FinPro accounts can now receive auto-generated email reminders about their regulatory element CE requirement as well as electronically sign their Form U4 filings.
Form BR Now Available in FINRA Gateway
Effective January 24, 2022, branch registration forms are available in the FINRA Gateway. Leveraging the modern data collection interface, users can now create an Initial Form BR from the firm profile and amend or close specific branches from the related Branch Profile. The Classic CRD experience will continue to be available until May 1, 2022. Watch a recording of a webinar held in December 2021 to learn more about key features of the enhanced filing process.

- End-Of-Life Operating Systems Blocked April 30
Access devices running end-of-life operating systems will be blocked from accessing FINRA applications effective April 30, 2022. After that date, you will not be able to access FINRA applications with the affected system until you upgrade to a supported version of the operating system. Please consult your IT provider for more information related to end-of-life operating systems.

- Ohio AG and RA Registration Rule Changes
Beginning September 30, 2021, the State of Ohio (OH) will require qualification exams for AG and RA registrations requested on Form U4 submissions. This rule change will not affect individuals who are currently registered or eligible to re-register in Ohio. For additional information on the rule changes, visit the Ohio Department of Commerce's Proposed Rules page.
- AG registrations will require reps to pass the Series 63 exam.
- RA registrations will require passing the Series 65 exam.
